Will a Bed of Kamut Grow Where Some Arundo Donax Once Lived?
Bob Quinn (R) Kamut International, began educating me about Kamut, a grain with an ancient history that is fascinating.
Kamut will be a centerpiece of our campaign projected for 2012 to help educate kids and adults that by turning our beat around with nature, we can have an Organic Uprising! An Organic Uprising is the key to educating ourselves out of our current Food Emergency. We will plant kamut in BioSmart compostable Pots. That project is now growing.
A chapter of Kamut history–is a dream–I have for the rim of the Arosa Canyon, near my home. Good Neighbors need to be educated about the potential dangers of Roundup Herbicide. Roundup was used to spray an area to make sure that Arundo Donax, The Giant Reed, does not grow back. It was cut down December 15 and 16 along the Arosa Canyon Rim bordering the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds. Since then, I have been snapping off the regrowth, but I am not sure, I can prevent Roundup from being sprayed here. Our 1/3 acre is within walking distance of San Diego State University. I hope to plant the Kamut here as a statement that we can turn away from Roundup use. Roundup Ready Technology is a cornerstone of Genetic Engineering Agricultural practices.
I will be adding more links soon to this Plant Your Dream Blog.
Bob Quinn sent me a 50 pound bag of his marvelous Kamut. I will plant some on a Ten by Ten Spot next to our garden that has always been organically grown.

RALLY ROUND OR ROUNDUP HERBICIDE?
ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGE CONTINUES ALONG AROSA CANYON RIM
This Plant Your Dream Blog shares the plan to create a video documentation of a small piece of ground, now organically grown, that will soon be sprayed with Roundup Herbicide if my Good Neighbor decides to go this route. I have proposed to him that I take a 10 by 10 plot where I want to demonstrate that enough people Rallying Around and digging out roots of Arundo Donax, The Giant Reed, can prevent its regrowth without Round up Herbicide use. We have started to dig on some of the roots in a little patch, and I am awaiting his approval of this process. Help support this demonstration. CALL ME, 619.384.2631 TO SCHEDULE A TIME FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION if you would like to help us dig us some roots. If you want to participate but do not want your face shown in our video, that is possible. If you cannot do this, but want to support another person doing it, contribute here and express your financial sponsorship.
BEET KEEPER PROJECT 2012: HOW FAST CAN A DREAM GROW?
JANUARY 12, 2012
Bob Quinn has delivered me a 50 pound bag of organic Kamut. I am awaiting word from my neighbor if I will be allowed to follow up with cutting out the Arundo Donax mechanically from one test plot. The plot thickens in this part of the Rock Your Soul Opera.

A FAVORITE QUOTE ON GREEB GRASS
BY GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER
When I touch grass,
I touch eternity.
It existed long before there were human beings
on the earth, and it will continue
to exist for millions of years to come.
Through the grass,
I tallk to the infinite,
which is only a silent force.
This is not a physical contact.
It is not in the earthquake,
wind, or fire,
It is the invisible world of nature,
or which, I, too, am a part.”
