Culture & Community Born @ San Diego Fermentation Festival #SDFF2015

The San Diego Fermentation Festival #SDFF2015 was a life changer.  My eyes were opened to a new way of eating that I know will improve my life.  Austin Durant and a team of volunteers put on a extraordinary event February 1, 2015.  A strong turnout on a wonderful day at the Leitchtag Foundation Ranch in Encinitas. I was glad I went.  In the Jewish Tradition the event fell close to the holiday called The Birthday of the Trees, a new year for plant life.  How appropriate.  Truly I felt a powerful momentum build.  Keynote Sandor Katz, author of “The Art of Fermentation,” referred to the relationship between social fermentation and the process of individuals growing some of their own food right and home through fermentation process.  I loved what I heard.  I left inspired. Putting up photos in the Facebook album:  San Diego Fermentation Festival #SDFF2015.

About the Birthday of the Trees

Begins the eve of February 3, 2015. I have been celebrating this with my Jewish Renewal Community in San Diego on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Then, the San Diego Fermentation Festival happened at the Leichtag Foundation Ranch on Sunday, February 1, 2015.  This was the first time I visited this incredible place, located within walking distance of the home of a dear old friend who passed away about ten years ago, Gary Hartman. http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday8.htm

I am writing a review of the San Diego Fermentation Festival #SDFF2015. I found out about your work through links on Brassica & Brine. I am very involved in Biodynamic upliftment through my friendship with Katrina Frey and the Frey Organic Wines. They make Biodynamic Wines.
