Exploring this morning some of the Photographers and Photography of Rancho La Puerta
I am exploring this morning some of the photographers and Photography of Rancho La Puerta.
In the Month of May 2012, I returned to the Ranch twice. Once was for the birthday of Deborah Szekely, who has been a major inspiration in my life for decades. I attended her 90th Birthday. During my second visit, I stayed at the Ranch while teaching at the 2nd Festival of Traditional Medicine of the Americas.
One of my main goals of this trip was to take time to ensure that I had a safe reentry into the US. Improving the Border Crossing at Tecate is one of my Seed Dreams. I see this as a way to inspire more friendship between the US and Mexico. Tecate is one of the friendliest cities in Mexico; I want the people of the U.S. to know this.
I feel there could be great economic benefit from an improved border crossing that exudes a spirit of friendship.
Millions of dollars in tourism would come into the hands of local commerce if such an improved border crossing was a bi-nation project.
Wellness Spring: A National Movement Whose Time has Come
During my second visit, May 18-22, 2012, I heard Deborah Szekely speak. She said two things that were pivotal in the movement of my own work.
The first inspiration she planted had to do with her latest inspiration: Wellness Spring.
I set out to help, and began to tell my friends.
“Pizza is a Vegetable!”
I have been inspired by the idea: Grow a Healthier Pizza. Been working on this for months, but Deborah put on my radar, a Big Piece: There was already a national conversation going on related to Pizza! Last Fall (Just around my Birthday…November 19, 2011) Congress took a couple steps back. Michelle Obama and the President were moving forward to improve school lunch programs. Then, the Commercial interests–and they have been having their say–since the beginning of the FDA and USDA–did their doublespeak.
They decided–in the name of saving money for our schools–to call Pizza a Vegetable. This further inspired my own work.
